Better late than never! This weeks Top Ten Tuesday post featured 10 bookish goals for the year ahead. I may be a tad late with my post but this weeks challenge feels like the best place for me to get myself back into good habits and routines. I already had a few goals in mind for this year so it wasn’t too hard coming up with a few more to fill the prompt. As always, TTT is run by That Artsy Reader Girl and is something I really enjoyed doing last year. I let everything fall to the wayside last year when a family member became terminally ill and focused on spending quality time with all the family and enjoying the time we had left. Now that I have a better balance with everything, its time to get back in the saddle.
READING A FAIRYTALE RETELLING
I love a good fairytale retelling and this one goes hand-in-hand with my second bookish goal. I read quite a few retellings last year and found so many that I enjoyed. Its a no brainer that this would be a goal for 2024.
FAIRYTALE READING CHALLENGE
I took part in this challenge last year and really enjoyed it. I decided to read the original fairytale and a retelling for each month’s prompt. There were several that I hadn’t read the original of so it made sense to read two for each one. I’m going to continue that for this years challenge.
SCI FI FANTASY READING CHALLENGE
This is another challenge I took part in last year. I naively thought it would be a fairly easy challenge to complete as the majority of books I read are fantasy, it turned out to be a little harder than I originally thought but I was making good progress and had several titles earmarked to see me through.
POPSUGAR READING CHALLENGE
This challenge is new to me and is quite a big one with 50 prompts. I plan to attempt this challenge but not fully. I think this will be one that I tick off where I can and work to increase my participation over the next few years.
READ PENGUIN CLOTHBOUND CLASSICS
I have been collecting clothbound classics for a few years now yet have never actually gotten around to finishing any of them. I plan to change that this year. I intend to start off slow and read one every two months this year with the goal of increasing to one every month next year.
READ MORE SERIES
I have far too many series’ that I have started and not finished yet or collected and not even begun. I hope to remedy that this year by working through the physical series that I own, thich leads nicely to my next goal.
CLEAR MY PHYSICAL TBR
This one will be an ongoing challenge for me. I’m a self confessed book dragon. I collect more than I read, acknowledging the problem is half the battle, right? Although, is it really a problem when I’m working on growing my collection onto my own library?
R.A.R.E AUTHORS
I’m attending RARE Edinburgh again this year and I’m excited to meet more authors and find more great reads. A future goal of mine is to become a RARE author.
AUDIOBOOKS
I don’t utilise my audio credits enough. I plan to increase the amount of books I listen to this year.
FULLY COMMIT TO TTT
Last year I made great progress with TTT posts until I let it all fall away halfway through the year. I took the time that I needed to focus on other more pressing matters. This year, I’m hoping to dive back in and get posting more regularly!
What challenges are you taking part in this year? I will do solo posts for each of the challenges I am taking part in this year, so keep an eye out for those!

You’ve got this! I’m enjoying Everand (Scribd) for audiobooks right now. It’s got a good seletection of audiobooks and ebooks (I quite often use the audios to clear some of my NetGalley backlog!). Here’s to 2024 bookish goals!
