My top ten things that make me not want to read a book.
Excessive character descriptions. I don’t need to know all the millions of things that the love interests eyes look like.
Poor editing. If a book has really bad editing then I stop reading.
Telling instead of showing.
A weak plot.
It has robots in it.
I’ve ran out of things that make me not want to read a book. In all honesty, I’ll give most books a fair go. What makes you not want to read a book?

I don’t like to read poorly edited books either.

Agree about the editing! I’ve pushed through a few because the writing is good and the story is good, it’s just not well edited. But always feel annoyed with myself for keeping going. Most of the time I do give up though.

I do the same. I’ll push through as best I can but if its annoying me too much then I’ll stop.

“It has robots in it.” XD I really don’t read much sci-fi at all tbh, just very occasionally, and usually because something -else- about it appealed to me.
